Becky Callaham, M.ED, LPC
Therapy is a sacred space for holding what was, understanding what is, and moving toward what can be. It offers a unique opportunity to explore one’s feelings, reactions and patterns of behaviors without judgement or distractions of “ought tos” and “shoulds”.
I believe that we are inherently capable of healing and thriving from challenging situations. But, life is messy. Sometimes we end up in places we never imagined we’d be and dealing with things we never planned. Getting from knowing we can heal and moving toward healing can be hard, especially when you feel hopeless or stuck.
For 35 years, I have had the privilege of walking alongside individuals and families as they navigated journeys that were often in stark contrast to the lives they imagined. I have provided counseling and support through life’s messes by holding space for individuals and families to process the emotional impact of transitions and shepherding them toward their distinct path for healing. I understand the pain of fear, the ache of grief and the relief of hope.
I am curious, open and optimistic. I use a strength’s based approach to identify an individual’s authentic self and I use the therapeutic relationship to hold and explore life’s challenges with honesty and integrity. I am grounded in deep respect for each unique individual’s experience, culture, and identity to carefully tend to their fragile spaces, rediscover their power and to build new internal connections and resources to heal and find joy again.
