Nadine G. McCallum, Ph.D.

Nadine is a licensed psychologist who earned a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Florida, and completed an internship in Health Psychology at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, IL. She spent several years working in Chicago area hospitals, including positions as inpatient eating disorders program director and an assistant professor at both Rush and Northwestern University Medical Centers. Since relocating to the Upstate in 1995, Nadine has focused primarily on private practice, with special interests in health psychology, women’s health and life transitions, eating and body image issues, the mind-body connection, and cognitive behavioral therapies for stress management and treating anxiety and mood disorders. She works primarily with individual adults, including young adults and college students, adults, and the LGBTQ population.

As a therapist with over 30 years of post-graduate experience, Nadine uses her training and experience to thoroughly evaluate each individual’s situation and develop an evidence-based and integrative treatment approach. She views therapy as an ongoing collaboration with the ultimate goal of increasing self-awareness and understanding, alleviating distress and problematic behaviors, and developing more effective ways of interacting with the world and managing life’s many changes and challenges. It requires courage and vulnerability to acknowledge when something isn’t working in our lives, to seek help with exploring our experience, and to begin taking actions that lead to a more balanced and satisfying life. Nadine feels privileged to be part of this process and strives to provide a safe, respectful, and empowering environment to support personal growth and improved connection with self and others.
