Nadine G. McCallum, Ph.D.

Nadine is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist who works with older adolescents and adults. She earned an undergraduate degree at Stetson University in DeLand, FL, and then received her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Florida's Department of Clinical and Health Psychology, and completed an internship in Health Psychology at Rush-Presbyterian/St Luke's Medical Center (RPSLMC) in Chicago, IL. She subsequently worked for several years in Chicago area hospitals, including a position as program director for an inpatient eating disorders unit and as an assistant professor at both RPSLMC and Northwestern University Medical Center. Since relocating to the Upstate over 20 years ago, Nadine has primarily worked in private practice, where her areas of interest include health psychology, integrative medicine, women's health and life transitions, eating and weight-related issues, the mind-body connection, and cognitive-behavioral therapies for stress management and treatment of anxiety and mood disorders. She also has a special interest in working with college students and other young adults dealing with a variety of complex issues as they move into adulthood.

Nadine uses her training and experience to thoroughly evaluate each individual's situation and then provide comprehensive recommendations for addressing the current symptoms and possible underlying issues. Her evidence-based approach views therapy as an ongoing collaboration with the ultimate goal of alleviating distress and problematic symptoms, while helping people develop more effective ways of interacting with the world and managing life's many changes and challenges. It takes courage and vulnerability to acknowledge when something isn't working in our lives, to seek help with exploring the reasons why, and to begin taking action to change the situation. Nadine strives to provide a respectful, empowering and supportive environment for this type of personal growth and connection with self and others.

After raising four children in the Clemson area, Nadine and her husband relocated to Greenville several years ago. She enjoys spending time with friends and family, practicing yoga, walking, biking on the Swamp Rabbit Trail, and traveling whenever possible.
